In its first incarnation,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.lofficielusa.com/film-tv/hilary-duff-how-i-met-your-father-new-tv-show" target="_blank" rel="noopener"></a>Hilary Duff and her role breakout role in the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire were prime exemplars of <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/celebrity-couples-2000s-era" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2000s style</a><a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/celebrity-couples-2000s-era" target="_blank" rel="noopener">. </a>Now, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/pop-culture/princess-diana-haircut-tik-tok" target="_blank" rel="noopener">TikTok</a> has become a platform for influencers to showcase updated conceptions of Y2K fashion&nbsp;with hashtags like #Y2KAesthetic and #Y2KFashion garnering hundreds of millions of views and counting.&nbsp;
To celebrate Duff turning 34, L'OFFICIEL&nbsp;remembers her Y2K style influence. It seems just like yesterday when she was the style idol of many young girls. Tuning in every Saturday morning to watch Lizzie and her friend tackle junior high problems was a highlight for many young women not only because of the memorable soundtrack and relatable topics but mostly because of Lizzie&rsquo;s unapologetically loud fashion sense. Some staples of Lizzie&rsquo;s wardrobe included baby tees, low-rise flared pants, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/fashion/mini-skirt-new-comes-back-runway-2021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">mini skirts,</a> and her frequent mixing of patterns and materials.&nbsp;
In some ways Lizzie&rsquo;s wardrobe was incredibly experimental, for example, she frequently sported brightly colored pieces made from pearlscent or <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/fashion/tie-dye-trend-not-more-a-fad" target="_blank" rel="noopener">tie-dyed </a>materials in low rise or form-fitting cuts. Her colorful outfits spoke to a younger generation wanting their voices to be heard. Similarly, Duff, outside of her role as Lizzie, did not stray far from her character&rsquo;s wardrobe. At red carpet events, she was often captured wearing low-rise jeans bright colors, or unconventional patterns. Today, mini skirts, <a href="https://www.lofficiel.co.uk/fashion/dua-lipa-grammy-versace-butterfly-dress" target="_blank" rel="noopener">butterfly motifs,</a> and low-waisted bottoms are just some of the many trends from Lizzie&rsquo;s era that have made a comeback.&nbsp;
