Recipe: How to make the rosette omelette that is all over Instagram
Up your breakfast game : this new food hype is conquering our Instagram feeds. All the credit goes to a Japanese chef, who stunned the internet with his spectacular-looking 'rosette omelette' recipe, also known as the tornado omelette. Although it looks quite complicated, it only takes a few chopsticks to make it yourself. The self-acclaimed foodie posted a video on TikTok, where he explains exactly how to recreate the typical Japanese dish at home. L'Officiel shows you how.
"You have to try if you come to Japan," posted the chief cook, Omura Isupuro. Have your sushi sticks ready.
Preparation:
To make the " rosette" omelet, the chef first breaks a few eggs in a pan and mixes them together. Then he pours a little of the egg mixture into the pan, after which he carefully turns the slowly cooking egg mixture around the axis of the pan with chopsticks (in the photo during the process).
When the mixture starts to cook on the bottom, he takes a pair of chopsticks and places them in the center of the liquid mixture. He turns the pan around and holds the chopsticks in place so that they form the lines that give the dish a rose-like effect. He served the dish, called "omurice" , on a bed of rice.
