Sadie Sink Joins Tom Holland in Marvel's Next 'Spider-Man'
The Stranger Things star will play a key role alongside Tom Holland in the new installment of the franchise.
The Spider-Man cinematic universe continues to expand with a new star : Stranger Things star Sadie Sink joins the cast of the next installment in the franchise produced by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios. According to sources reported by Deadline , the actress will play a major role alongside Tom Holland , who will reprise his iconic character of Peter Parker.
While Marvel and Sony remain silent on the details of her character, speculation is rife. The prevailing theory is that Sadie Sink will play Jean Grey, one of the iconic figures of the X-Men , but the possibility that she will play another famous redhead from the Spider-Man universe, such as Mary Jane Watson or even a new version of Spider-Woman, shouldn't be ruled out .
A new direction for the saga
The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and produced by Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. This new sequel is expected to mark an evolution in Peter Parker's story, following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home , where he chose to erase his identity from the world via a spell cast by Doctor Strange. With this new dynamic, it is expected that some characters from the previous films will have a reduced role, making way for newcomers, including Sadie Sink.
Filming planned after The Odyssey
Tom Holland is currently busy filming The Odyssey , Christopher Nolan's next film. Production on the new Spider-Man should begin once this project is completed, later this year.
For her part, Sadie Sink continues to take on major projects. After filming the final season of Stranger Things , one of the most anticipated television events of 2025, she recently shone at South by Southwest (SXSW) with O'Dessa , a Searchlight musical comedy that will soon be released on Hulu. Before donning her costume for Spider-Man , she will also make her Broadway debut in John Proctor Is the Villain , which is scheduled to premiere on April 4.
With a cast that's as dynamic as ever and the addition of new talent like Sadie Sink , the next Spider-Man movie promises to be a must-see MCU event. Watch this space.
