14,800 kg of denim scraps invade the set of the Diesel fashion show for the spring summer 2025 collection conceived by Glenn Martens. On the outskirts of Milan, Diesel presented its new women's and men's creations for the next season with its spring summer 2025 fashion show . Upon entering the location, you immediately notice the massive installation created for the catwalk. 14,800 kg of denim scraps that underline Diesel's commitment to upcycling - in fact, with a press release, Renzo Rosso 's brand explained that after the show, the entire scenography will be reused as a roll of denim from the automotive and insulation sectors. Numerous celebrities sat in the front row who attended Glenn Martens' show. On a synthesized soundtrack, he juxtaposes the robotic words that tell the story of denim: from the birth of the fabric made with the twill weave in the city of Nîmes, to the processes that can be carried out. And in the Glenn Martens spring summer 2025 collection , denim appears in a washed, destroyed, deconstructed, torn, reconstructed and frayed version.
While we have had a chance to see Diesel’s experimental potential under Martens’ creative direction, this collection seeks to elevate the OTB brand’s daywear looks. While the pieces may seem simple on the surface, they are crafted from devoré jacquards and double-loom denim combined with circularity, lasers and distressed treatments. Glenn continues his journey of seeking – more and more – to enrich a humble fabric to make it desirable and increasingly desirable. Bravo.
