The exhibition curated by Anthony Vaccarello, current creative director of Saint Laurent, investigates the relationship between the designer and his bold and androgynous muse

It is a style icon that has never cared much about clothes. Her name is Betty Catroux , she was Yves Saint Laurent&#39;s friend, muse, indomitable alter ego. And during the Paris Fashion Week dedicated to the Autumn-Winter 2020/21 , the Yves Saint Laurent Museum presents a preview of an exhibition dedicated to her.

His name is Betty Catroux. Feminine Singular , will be open from March 3 to October 11 this year and has exceptional curator Anthony Vaccarello , the current creative director of the brand, who had carte blanche in designing the set-up based on a donation made from the same Catroux of her pieces signed YSL, between high fashion and pr&ecirc;t-&agrave;-porter. The relationship of the great coutuier with the fascinating socialite outside the box began in 1967 when the two met in a club, New Jimmy&#39;s in 1967. Saint Laurent was struck by his androgynous beauty, by the way he wears, drawing heavily on the male wardrobe, free from the idea of femininity until then proposed by fashion and culture. &quot;I don&#39;t feel like calling myself a man or a woman, but I certainly feel myself in a state of seductiveness when I wear men&#39;s clothes , &quot; explained Catroux a few years ago in commenting on his style. From that precise moment, Monsieur Yves wants her next to him, defining her his twin sister, his female double, the person who most of all embodies the sense of his aesthetic research. The two have been inseparable throughout their lives and the exhibition also returns images and private documents never before exhibited, which tell the strength of their relationship.
