Daniel Lee presents the Salon 01 collection in London and an exclusive Gift format consisting of a bag, 3 books and a vinyl record

Bottega Veneta restarts from the present. The new Salon 01 collection designed by Daniel Lee prioritizes contemporary social issues by keeping a focus on the relationship between daily routine and the subversive desire for freedom. The Salon 01 London event was held in London , limited to a very few guests who took part in the new project, a continuation of Wardarobe 01 presented in October. The events follow one another according to the performative principle of &quot;Leave No Trace&quot;, developed in an empty setting in which only the existing furnishings remain. To transport the observers into another dimension are the choreographies of lights, a technicolor show of light projections that fill the void, restoring evanescence and dynamism. Crochet and knitwear dresses share the same experimental matrix, this comes from a collaboration with contemporary German artist Rosemarie Trockel , famous for her paintings with woolen work. The knitted tailoring continues the dialogue of nostalgic memories connected to the home environment. The fabrics are also similar to home furnishings and refer to the aesthetic codes of the 1960s. Structured and at the same time soft silohuettes relate to confy and easy-to-wear clothing, as for footwear: light wedges with handcrafted finishes and rubbery tactile leather and wedges, designed as a work of art, which resell the platform architecture in a conceptual version.

The Gift by Bottega Veneta

With the Salon 01 London event, <a href="https://www.lofficielitalia.com/fashion-week/bottega-veneta-fall-winter-2020-mfw" target="_blank">Bottega Veneta</a> also sends a limited edition Gift format consisting of a green tote bag containing 3 books and a vinyl record. Book 01 contains the sources of inspiration of the collection and the creative process of the creative director, volume 02 was created by the German conceptual artist Rosemarie Trockel , her work that exploits figurative language, installations and sculpture, wants to challenge the culture of femininity. In fact, Trockel applies his curatorial skills by creating combinations of photographic collages that transform the product into a powerful object of desire. Finally, book 03 is dedicated to the physical presentation with the images of the stage and the backstage taken by photographer Tyrone Lebon. Inside there is also a strictly green vinyl that completes the process with the soundtrack of the event. A spoken track that guides the show with aphorisms including &quot;It&#39;s good to be safe, but you know it&#39;s really important to be bold&quot; phrases spoken by the artist Neneh Cherry who had previously collaborated with Daniel Lee for <a href="https://www.lofficielitalia.com/moda/bottega-veneta-cortometraggio-film-video-men-mubi-tyrone-lebon-daniel-lee" target="_blank">the short film available on MUBI entitled &quot;Bottega Veneta: Men&quot; .</a> The phrases underline the experimental allure of Bottega Veneta, indicating the character of the creative direction.
