Is it possible to cultivate hair at home in such a way that every day they look as if after a night in the salon, look healthy, do not slip and rejoice in fluff?

Vaida Grybauskaitė, a hair stylist and colorist at the beauty salon Cute Beauty Lab, tells how to properly care for her hair and what tools to choose for it.

1. Proper hair removal

To ensure proper hair care and maintain hygiene, I recommend rubbing your hair 2-3 times a week. Of course, it also depends on the type of skin, their texture, the need of the person himself. If the scalp is normal or dry, there is often less need to rub such hair. If the scalp is oily, you may need to rub it every day, although this is not recommended.

Excessive hair loss, especially if the wrong means are used, can lead to even greater sebum secretion. And if styling products such as hairspray, paste, etc. are used on a daily basis, it is recommended to use a cleansing shampoo that deeply cleanses both the scalp and the hair itself from excessive use of the products.

2. Scalp care

First, you should pay attention to whether the scalp has any problems, such as excessive oiliness, extremely dry, itchy skin, suffering from dandruff. All of this can be controlled by using different shampoos, scalp scrubs or mud to solve the problem. Such remedies contain ingredients to help combat the problem, but if it is a scalp disease such as psoriasis or dermatitis, one should consult a dermatologist who will prescribe the appropriate treatment.

The most important thing to understand is that the scalp needs to be taken care of just like the face or hands - yet we are a cohesive body. So if we use a cleanser, scrub, face mask, such products should be chosen for the scalp as well. Especially not to forget the scalp scrub, it will properly cleanse the scalp, remove dead cells, tone and promote hair growth. However, I do not recommend experimenting on your own, but rather consult a professional.

3. Proper shampoo and conditioner

The shampoo should be chosen according to what the scalp is, just like we choose a face cream. Hair conditioner - according to the condition of the hair itself, ie whether the hair is tired, thinning, porous, damaged by bleaching, dyed, lost shine, curled, bloated, etc.

I recommend consulting a hairdresser who will help you choose the right shampoo, conditioner and other tools. Often customers use discretionary remedies that are completely inappropriate, as well as their own hair or even damage. Understandably, because we women are too self-critical, we think our hair is the most severely damaged, too dry, or the most branching, and in fact the condition of our hair can be quite different.

It is recommended to change the shampoo no more often than every three months. This is how long it takes for the hair to get used to it, to adjust, and to see the effect. It is enough to change from one line to another, it is also possible to mix the lines with each other, combining according to the condition of the scalp and hair at that time. For example, if you suffer from hair loss and after a few months of use the problem subsides, the tools need to be discontinued and replaced with others.

4. Know your hair and scalp type

There are four most common types: dry, normal, mixed and greasy. They are fairly easy to identify.

Dry type - hair that has lost its shine, is weaker, brittle, rough, and the scalp may be prone to flaking and itching. Sometimes dehydrated skin begins to become heavily oily.

Normal is a type that does not require much attention and care, it is usually natural, undyed, chemically unaffected hair.

Mixed - the roots are greasy and the tips are dry.

Oily - frequent head washing (washing in the morning, wanting to wash again in the evening), mild itching.

5. Coordination of measures

Usually, products from the same line manufacturer amplify and complement each other. Some measures are inseparable and even manufacturers do not allow them to be sold separately. For example, if the hair is badly damaged, crumbles, and you do not want to cut it, there is a whole line that fills the hair with building materials such as protein, amino acids, prevents it from crumbling, and keeps the hair alive.

But you can confidently mix different lines from the same manufacturer as needed. Let&#39;s say a gentle, balancing shampoo for frequent rubbing - for oily scalp, moisturizing conditioner - for dry ends and once a week nourishing, restoring mask.

6. Additional care

It is recommended to pamper your hair with a mask at least once a week. It should be chosen according to the condition of the hair, the volume and the desired result. If the hair is thin, dyed, a moisturizing, restorative mask would be suitable. It is important that the mask does not weigh on the hair, because in this case there will be a feeling of dirty head, the hair will grease faster.

Heavier, nourishing masks are suitable for curls, they help the curls to become smoother, softer and return to their shape. There are also color-supporting masks and conditioners. This is especially true when you don&rsquo;t want to tone your hair too often, such masks maintain color brightness and provide benefits to your hair.

7. Hair care in winter

During the cold season, the hair needs special care. The change of warm and cold air causes them a shock. The hair begins to electrify, the hair follicles weaken, the absorption of substances becomes slower.

In winter, hair needs more nourishment, not just moisturizing. In addition, before drying, I would recommend using non-washable conditioners or lotions, and special oils to complete the hairstyle.

One should not forget to drink plenty of water, do not go outside with wet hair, but try not to overdry it with a hair dryer, use styling tools as infrequently as possible, cover your hair with a head covering.
